ADVICE AND SUPPORT WITH ENERGY BILLS 

We understand that for many of our patients, managing energy costs and staying warm during the colder months can be a challenge. As part of our commitment to your overall wellbeing, we wanted to share some information about some services available to you that can provide advice and support around energy bills.

 

ENERGYWORKS 

Energyworks is a partnership project between Citizens Advice Brighton & Hove and Brighton & Hove Energy Services Coop (BHESCo). They provide energy advice and grants to Brighton and Hove residents experiencing fuel poverty. 

They can help: 

  • With understanding energy bills 
  • Make sure you’re not paying more than you should  
  • By negotiating with your supplier.  
  • Reduce energy use and costs 
  • Make homes warmer and more energy-efficient 
  • Make sure you’re receiving all the financial support you are eligible for and provide advice on other energy-related issues.

  • Call the voicemail service on 0333 090 9150. Leave a message and they will aim to call you back the same day 

 

Or visit the energydrop-in advice service: Thursdays, 1:15pm at Tisbury Road Offices, Hove Town Hall, Tisbury Road, Hove, BN3 3BQ 

(Please note that they can only support people in the following postcodes: BN1, BN2 BN3, BN41) 

 

LOCAL ENERGY ADVICE SERVICE 

Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP) (partnered with Brighton and Hove City Council) is a free, national service available for eligible residents that helps people keep warm and reduce energy bills. 

The service includes: 

  • Practical Energy Advice 
  • Tariff & Smart meter advice 
  • Installation of free small energy efficiency measures – LED lightbulbs, radiator reflector panels, draught proofing etc 
  • Income Maximisation & Fuel debt advice 
  • Onward referrals to other organisations where appropriate  
  • Boiler repair/replacement – (Owner occupiers only – where/when available) 
  • White goods (where/when available)
